Concert bands delight crowd during Holiday Instrumental Concert

Tuesday night was the annual Holiday Instrumental Concert, featuring the 5th-6th grade concert band and 7th-12th grade concert band under the direction of Mr. Michael Sisley.

The 5th-6th grade band performed three songs - "Jingle Bells," "Up On The Housetop" and "Jolly Old Saint Nicholas."

The 7th-12th grade band performed five songs - "On Holiday," "All is Calm," "Rejoice and Be Merry," "The Heart of Christmas" and "Holiday Gallop."

Senior Shalawn Parker performed a solo on alto saxophone during "All is Calm." Atreyu Convard (flute) and Chase Morrison (trumpet) had solos during "Rejoice and Be Merry," while Morrison also had a solo during "The Heart of Christmas."

Mr. Sisley noted that this was the first time this particular selection of music had been performed at Steel Valley, which added to the excitement for the musicians.
