Steel Valley Middle School educates students in grades five through eight. Our curriculum builds upon the foundational concepts learned in elementary school and begins to introduce more rigorous academic principles in order to prepare students for their advancement to high school. Students at every grade level have classes in the core subjects of mathematics, language arts, science and social studies.

Students in seventh and eighth grade who excel academically are offered the option to take advanced language arts and advanced mathematics. Science classes feature a blend of biology, chemistry, earth science and phyiscal science. Electives are also available to Middle School students.

Steel Valley has a rich history with the arts. Our band, chorus and art classes are always popular elective choices. Other electives are also available, with seventh and eighth grade students offered some specifically to prepare them for high school.

  • Middle School Student Government
  • Girl Talk and Stand Together promote self-discovery and mental health
  • Middle school chorus and concert band
  • Steel Valley Marching Band for seventh and eighth graders
  • SV Drama Club produces two stage productions during the school year.
  • Seventh and eighth graders can compete against other schools in football, girls volleyball, soccer, cross country, swimming, basketball and cheerleading
  • And more!
