Middle School Basketball Tryouts

There will be tryouts next week for any 7th and 8th grade boy interested in participating in Middle School Basketball.  Tryouts will be conducted on October 26th, 27th, and 28th beginning at 3:30 p.m. in the Middle School gym.  Participants must have an approved sports physical submitted to the athletic office.  If you have any questions, please contact the athletic department at (412) 464-3600 ext. 2400.  

WPIAL Boys Soccer Player of the Week: Rutger Randall (Keystone Oaks)

Tyler Wellman (Steel Valley, Junior) Tyler had 6 goals and 4 assists to lead the Ironmen to a successful opening week in a very competitive Class 2A, Section 1.  One of those assists led to the the golden goal in Steel Valley’s OT win vs Avonworth.

Class 3A Baseball

POY: Andre Good, Steel Valley

The Youngstown State recruit batted .420 with 30 runs, 26 RBIs, four triples and five home runs. He went 3 for 5 and drove in the game-winning run in the WPIAL final.

COY: Patrick Loughran, Steel Valley

Like Medich, Loughran also won a WPIAL title in his first season as head coach. The Ironmen went 13-9 overall but made a title-winning run as a No. 4 seed in the WPIAL playoffs.
