Title I Program

Steel Valley School District receives federal funding through the Title I program enabling it to offer additional reading and math services to students in grades K-8. Students qualify for the program when they score “below basic” or “basic” on state approved assessments. Students who qualify for the program will receive a Title I School-Parent Compact that outlines what services the school will provide and how the parent and student will participate in the program. All Title I parents are encouraged to be active in the District’s parent involvement program. Parents should attend all PTO meetings, parent/teacher events and Title I family activities. By being an active parent, you can provide your child with a positive outlook towards education.  Any questions regarding the Title I program should be directed to Director of Federal Programs/High School Principal: Bryan Macuga, Director of Federal Programs/Middle School Principal  (412) 464-3600 ext. 3505.

Decorate Gavin’s Tree

November 11, 2019

Please help us decorate Gavin’s tree in the SV High School lobby with donations of NEW mittens, hats, gloves, & socks for KIDS & TEENS. We will collect items during the months of November & December.  All items will then be donated to children in the community who need them for the winter.

We loved having 246 people attend the Town Hall meeting on October 29, 2019! We have compiled a summary of the ideas that we received, and they are attached for your review. As we move forward, we hope to continue to gain valuable input from all of our stakeholders. When we set the date of the next Town Hall meeting, we will communicate it widely to our community. Thank you for your contributions! Eddie Wehrer Superintendent
