A scene from the Polar Plunge

A team of Steel Valley students and staff took a freezing cold dip in a pool outside of Acrisure Stadium on Friday, February 21. The frigid swim was for Special Olympics Pennsylvania's annual Cool Schools Polar Plunge, a campaign that helps raise awareness and funds for the organization.

Steel Valley High School has an exciting opportunity to begin a new Girl's Flag Football team starting in the Spring of 2025! The season will run from approximately March 30th to May 18th.

Unified bocce team

The Steel Valley Unified Bocce Team is headed to the playoffs. The Maroon Team, one of two sponsored by Steel Valley, will compete in the playoffs at Baldwin High School on February 26. The Unified Bocce Team is also teaming up with the High School Student Council to take a group of Steel Valley students to participate in this year's Cool Schools Pittsburgh Polar Plunge on February 21.

Leadership meeting

The Steel Valley School District administration and building principals hosted an informational Educational Leadership Meeting on Wednesday, February 12 to provide updates to families and community members on academic performance, student supports and resources, and more.

FAFSA Night

Steel Valley High School will be hosting a FAFSA Night on Thursday, February 6 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in cooperation with the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA).

A student opens a new tuba

Steel Valley students received a surprise Monday morning, as Citizens donated over 30 new musical instruments to the music program as part of its Sounds of Giving initiative. Citizens is donating $100,000 worth of instruments to schools in the area, and their campaign began Monday at Steel Valley High School.

The Steel Valley Music Department presented its Winter Concert featuring middle school and high school students on Friday, December 13. The festive show struck all the right notes as the Steel Valley community prepares for the holiday break.

The Steel Valley School District and the community gathered on Friday, November 15, 2024 to honor the men and women of the armed forces who have answered the call to serve their country. The 42nd Annual Veterans Day Program had the theme of "A Legacy of Loyalty and Service," which highlighted the dedication and personal sacrifices of those who made the commitment to serve.
