With just one week until prom, members of our 2025 Prom Court have been busy campaigning to be voted Prom King and Prom Queen. Everything is on the table to secure votes - posters, delicious food and sweet treats, alliances with the administrators, and even endorsements from certain teachers!

The choir performs at the senior showcase

Tuesday evening was the annual Senior Showcase Concert for the Steel Valley High School Concert Choir. The program featured a number of opportunities for seniors - as well as some underclassmen - to perform some of their favorite songs and enjoy one of their final moments in the spotlight.

Steel Valley's annual Kennywood Day is scheduled for June 3, 2025. This annual event is day where Steel Valley School District staff, students, and families can enjoy discounted tickets to visit Kennywood.

STEEL VALLEY SCHOOL DISTRICT AND PATHWAYS WELLNESS PROGRAM

The SVSD is hosting a vaccine MAKE UP clinic March 26 and April 30 from 10am-12pm at the HS. 6th graders need Tdap and Meningitis vaccines to enter grade 7. Juniors need a dose of Meningitis vaccine @ 16 years of age to enter grade 12. We encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity and sign up today! A scene from All Shook Up

Steel Valley Drama Club will present the jukebox musical "All Shook Up," featuring the music of the iconic Elvis Presley, on March 13 through March 16. The curtain rises on evening performances on March 13, 14, and 15 at 7:30 p.m. A matinee performance will take place on March 16 at 2 p.m. Tickets are available via https://svdrama.seatyourself.biz/ or at the door.

Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of Steel Valley alumni and local organizations, the Class of 2025 has dozens of scholarships available to them. The following is a list of local scholarships that will be available to eligible seniors. The application deadline for the following scholarships is: April 11, 2025.

SV Drama Club presents “All Shook Up!”

The SV Drama Club presents “All Shook Up!” this week starting Thursday, March 13 at 7:30 p.m., with additional shows on March 14 and 15 at 7:30 p.m. and on Sunday, March 16 at 2 p.m.

Each year, Project Prom gives eligible high school students the opportunity to choose free formal attire from a selection of currently styled formal gowns, shoes and accessories. The following are dates: Saturday, March 29; Monday, March 31; Thursday, April 3; and Saturday, April 5.

The Ironmen Unified Bocce Team lost a close game (6-5) to end their season today during the playoffs. Prior to the game, today's team captains Michalique Kennedy and Abigail Fitzgerald had the honor of carrying the torch during the open ceremonies.

A scene from the Polar Plunge

A team of Steel Valley students and staff took a freezing cold dip in a pool outside of Acrisure Stadium on Friday, February 21. The frigid swim was for Special Olympics Pennsylvania's annual Cool Schools Polar Plunge, a campaign that helps raise awareness and funds for the organization.

Steel Valley High School has an exciting opportunity to begin a new Girl's Flag Football team starting in the Spring of 2025! The season will run from approximately March 30th to May 18th.

Unified bocce team

The Steel Valley Unified Bocce Team is headed to the playoffs. The Maroon Team, one of two sponsored by Steel Valley, will compete in the playoffs at Baldwin High School on February 26. The Unified Bocce Team is also teaming up with the High School Student Council to take a group of Steel Valley students to participate in this year's Cool Schools Pittsburgh Polar Plunge on February 21.

Leadership meeting

The Steel Valley School District administration and building principals hosted an informational Educational Leadership Meeting on Wednesday, February 12 to provide updates to families and community members on academic performance, student supports and resources, and more.
