Enhancements to high school cafeteria designed to better serve students

A glimpse inside the new cafeteria

When high school students report for the first day on Friday, they'll have a brand new cafeteria serving line with an array of food choices for lunch.

The main portion of the project was completed last November on an off-day for students. They were stunned with the new set-up upon their return. Now, after some additional electrical work, the entire operation is ready to serve the students.

Ms. Lisa Runco, Director of Food Service, said that the upgrades replaced some original appliances and materials that were first installed when the high school was built. While they were still operational, replacing them made the whole operation more modern and efficient. Students have a wide range of nutritious options, including a salad bar, for their lunches.

Along with the artistic flourishes on the signs above each station, Ms. Runco said the hope is to add murals and window stickers in the serving area to further enhance the look and make lunchtime an even more relaxing and peaceful period for students.

Check out a few photos of the serving area from the high school lunch during Transition Day.
