Seniors Chelsea Bulger, Roman Donis sign National Letters of Intent to pursue college sports

Tuesday was a milestone moment for Chelsea Bulger and Roman Donis, as the two Steel Valley seniors signed their National Letters of Intent to pursue intercollegiate athletics opportunities.

Chelsea inked her National Letter of Intent to play collegiate soccer with the Clarion Golden Eagles. A four-year starter and letter winner for the Steel Valley girls soccer team, Chelsea earned All-Section honors as an outside midfielder in 2020, 2021 and 2022. She helped Steel Valley reach the WPIAL playoffs in 2019, 2020 and 2021, and she played a significant role in the Ironmen winning the 2021 WPIAL Class 1A Championship. Chelsea plays club soccer for Century United F.C.’s 2005 RED team in the PA West Classic Division.

Joining Chelsea for the signing ceremony were her parents, Jim and Chrissy Bulger; her sister, Ashley Bulger; her grandparents, Chuck and Candace Toth; Steel Valley girls varsity soccer coach Bill Abraham; Mike Pavlick of the Steel Valley Soccer Club; and Steel Valley athletic director Shawn McCallister.

Roman is taking his baseball talents to the PSAC. The Steel Valley senior signed his National Letter of Intent to play collegiate baseball at the University of Pittsburgh-Johnstown, where he’ll reunite with older brother Noah. An infielder and pitcher for Steel Valley, Roman hit for a .368 average with a pair of home runs for the Ironmen as a junior. Donis also plays for the Pittsburgh Diamond Dawgs travel baseball team.

Joining Roman for the signing ceremony were his parents, Mark and Marnyn Donis; his brother, Noah Donis; Steel Valley varsity baseball coaches Kevin Walsh and Matthew Simpson; and Steel Valley athletic director Shawn McCallister.
