The 2022 Steel Valley Senior Car Parade

A caravan of brightly decorated cars and local first responders wove its way through the Mon Valley Tuesday evening as Steel Valley High School celebrated the Class of 2022 with a senior car parade. Guided by first responders from throughout the district, the caravan featured cars decorated with signs, photos, balloons and more as the students toured the district to celebrate their upcoming graduation.

The route began at the high school, wound its way up Main Street past Park Elementary, ducked down West Run Road eventually to West Homestead, rolled through 8th Avenue into Homestead, then back up West Street and Main Street to the high school. Several students earned rewards for the decorations on their cars.

The event began in 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and was made possible through the work and organization of Steel Valley staff, teachers, families and local first responders.
