Parent Night Reference Document
Everyone at Steel Valley Elementary is excited for the start of the 2026-27 school and the first day in our brand new school!
Principal Mrs. Kim Winters shared a lot of important information during Parent Night on Wednesday, August 26. If you missed the event or would like to review the information again, we have put it all together in this helpful reference document.
Steel Valley Elementary is a state-of-the-art learning center devoted to providing a robust education to students from Pre-K through fifth grade in the Steel Valley School District. The building will open in August 2026 and bring all elementary students in the district together under one roof. For over a century, Barrett Elementary in Homestead and Park Elementary in Munhall served students in the community and enriched their lives. The Steel Valley School District is immensely proud of the history of those buildings and the generations of educators who helped prepare students for middle school, high school, and beyond. Steel Valley Elementary is designed to take the very best of Barrett and Park - the positive environments, the caring team of educators, and the rich traditions - and bring it all together with a more comfortable, welcoming, and versatile learning environment.
Steel Valley Elementary provides students and faculty with the staff to adapt to changing trends in education, to accommodate small group and large group learning, to explore early concepts in STEM education, and to ensure every learner has their needs met in a positive, enriching environment.
Welcome to the future of education in the Steel Valley School District!
