WELCOME TO THE NEW STEEL VALLEY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

WHY BUILD A NEW SCHOOL?
The Steel Valley School District has been proud to have Barrett Elementary and Park Elementary educate its younger students for decades. They have served the district well. So, why is now the time to build a new school? The reasons include the advanced age of Barrett and Park, the ability to unite the elementary students under one roof, modern safety and security elements, and much more.

SAFETY AND SECURITY
The safety and security of our staff and students was a priority during the design process of the new school. From specially rated glass on the exterior windows to a secure vestibule for visitors to enter the building, every possible step was taken to ensure our students and staff will have a safe environment in which to learn.

A timelapse camera is following the entire construction process until the new school is ready to go. The camera has been positioned on the roof of the High School/Middle School building overlooking the former Griffin Field and Franklin Primary complex. The camera includes a timelapse function to see the construction progress over the course of the last day, week, month, or the entire project.

TRANSPORTATION PLANS
The Steel Valley School District has been a walking district for a long time. With a centralized elementary school, the district is committed to providing transportation to its youngest students. Multiple ideas are under consideration to provide the most efficient and effective method of transporting students to school.

A MODERN LEARNING SPACE
The new Steel Valley Elementary School is designed to be a modern learning space, with all of the features and amenities necessary to provide the best possible education to Steel Valley students. The school was designed with the needs of every student in mind, ensuring that any student can enter the building and get the education and support that they need and deserve.
