The high school parking lot was transformed into a sea of ghouls, goblins, superheroes, cartoon characters, video game characters, and more Thursday night as Barrett Elementary and Park Elementary teamed up for a district Trunk or Treat.
Organized by the amazing Barrett and Park PTOs, the Trunk or Treat event enabled students to have a safe opportunity to do some trick or treating. They saw some friends and were surprised by a few familiar faces who were among the dozens of volunteers handing out goodies.
Steel Valley staff, community organizations, and local businesses all set up shop with decorated vehicle trunks or stations to hand out some treats. Guests were able to vote for their favorite decorations, and some of our volunteers really went all out with lights, special effects, and more.
This was another great opportunity for our Barrett and Park families and students to come together as we move closer to having a unified elementary school with the opening of Steel Valley Elementary next August. There will be more collaborations as the year goes along.
Thank you to the staff members, volunteers, and especially both PTOs for making this a special evening for our families. Special shout out to our friends at Steel City Hot Dogs and Catering for generously providing a free meal to every child in attendance!
