Mayor Rob Falce kicked off the Borough Days festivities by visiting all the 3rd graders to discuss his role as Mayor of Munhall, including his responsibilities, how elections are run, community pride, and ways children can contribute to our community.
This year, Mayor Falce also addressed declaring a state of emergency for Munhall after the recent severe storm. He informed students that the borough will be collecting spoiled food resulting from power outages. Anyone wishing to dispose of spoiled food can contact Munhall Borough, and they will arrange to pick it up.
Borough Days will feature a 3rd grade election and a job application process. Selected students will have the opportunity to serve as Munhall Borough officials and will attend the May Borough Meeting on Wednesday, May 21st. The week will conclude with a tour of the Borough Building and a parade back to Park School on Thursday, May 22nd.
Our local Police, Fire Departments, and MAPs medics will participate by leading the parade and giving students a chance to tour emergency vehicles and learn more about the important jobs they do.
