Mrs. Kamuaf's and Mrs. Callahan's Third Grade Classes Celebrate Black History Month
Students in Mrs. Callahan's and Mrs. Kamuaf's third grade Social Studies classes recently celebrated Black History Month by participating in an engaging research project. Each student chose a notable African American figure to investigate, honing their paraphrasing skills as they drafted, edited, and crafted a final three-paragraph essay.
To deepen their understanding, the students created tri-fold poster presentations featuring their selected figures along with important facts, ensuring their designs were visually captivating.
The students showcased their hard work during a LIVE Black History Museum event at Park School, where they portrayed their chosen historical figures and displayed their tri-fold posters.
The celebration wrapped up with a field trip to Barrett Elementary, where the students attended the school's Black History Museum. Their tri-fold displays were also featured at Barrett Elementary for the community to enjoy.
