Park Elementary Welcomes Ms. Jordan Bon

Park Elementary Welcomes Ms. Jordan Bon

We are thrilled to welcome Ms. Jordan Bon to Park Elementary!  Jordan will be serving as the first and second grade reading specialist.  Ms. Parker, who has been in the position since Dr. Kenavey's retirement, will be moving into a different position with the district.

Ms. Bon is coming to us from Propel, where she has taught kindergarten and fifth grade classes.  Prior to her time with Propel, Jordan worked for the North Allegheny School District.

Jordan attended Duquesne University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education.  She returned to Duquesne to earn her Master's Degree in Reading and Literacy, and to get her reading specialist certification. She likes Duquesne so much she's back again, this time working on a certification for teaching students with dyslexia.  Ms. Bon is, of course, thrilled that the Dukes are in the NCAA Tournament!

Jordan loves to read, especially historical fiction.  She also likes to cook and bake (blueberry muffins are her specialty!).  When it's nice out she enjoys going for walks.  Jordan's favorite color is blue, she likes pasta, and Tiramisu!

Ms. Bon is excited to have the opportunity to provide reading support to the first and second graders here, and she is appreciative of how welcoming everyone has been.  Please take a moment to welcome Ms. Jordan Bon to Park Elementary and to wish her well in her new position!
