Students in Mrs. Blasko's classroom took advantage of the nice weather on Thursday to visit the memorial outside of Park Elementary on the corner of Main Street and Cambria Street in honor of a former teacher, Mrs. Maria Heddleston. Mrs. Heddleston was a classroom teacher and reading specialist here at Park.
Students had the opportunity to learn a little more about the memorial and why it is so special. They then worked hard to fill the book nooks with books for all the children in the community. After they finished filling them up, they enjoyed a fun Halloween story outside. Community members are always welcome to come by, leave a book, take a book, and/or sit under the tree and read. We want to keep Mrs. Heddleston's love for reading going here at Park!
