Crashing Waves

Crashing Waves is a collaborative art piece by local artist Hannah Goforth in conjunction with students in the Life Skills / Autistic Support classrooms at Park Elementary.  Artists worked together to create a collage mural featuring process painting, collage, and metallic accents.  It is easy to overlook others in society when they are different.  This piece is bright and vibrant, showcasing the glowing personalities of the artists that created it.  The waves of movement show the ease with which people get swept out to sea and disregarded.  To represent the preciousness inside each of us, 24k gold leaf was added to accentuate the pieces of torn paper added by student artists.  The piece was completed in 2022, and is on display in the first floor stairway.
