Learning from the Big Kids

Learning from the Big Kids

Before the pandemic, at Christmas time the kindergarteners had a chance to play games, read books, and build crafts with middle schoolers serving on Student Government.  The kindergarteners loved it, and it was one of the favorite service projects of the year for the middle schoolers.  Unfortunately, it couldn't happen this year, but that didn't stop the middle schoolers from connecting with their little friends!

Since the beginning of the school year, each week four middle school student government students complete a project where they come up with an idea, develop a plan, and use their iPad to create a film.  Students read stories, build crafts, play a game, or show off a special talent.  After the videos are edited and text and music is added, the kindergarteners and first graders at Park and Barrett can take a look.  The kids love them!

Thank you to the middle school student government for going above-and-beyond to make this happen!!!
