The decision late yesterday by Gov. Wolf to close all schools in Pennsylvania for the next two weeks has forced the District to change its plans. Instead of using FID days on Monday and Tuesday (3/16 and 3/17) for the creation of additional FID packets, the District now will be closed for teachers, aides and students for the full two weeks between Monday, March 16, and Friday, March 27. The planned half-day of school on Wednesday, March 18, will not occur.
As media coverage of the coronavirus (COVID l9) increases, we understand that you may have concerns and questions about the health of our students and community. Please know that the Steel Valley School District prioritizes the safety and well-being of our students, staff and families.
Individuals should continue to help stop the spread of viruses, like the flu, by washing hands, covering coughs and sneezes, cleaning surfaces and staying home if sick.
March 17 from 8:00 am – 1:00 pm in the Steel Valley High School Gymnasium. Open to the public.
