Anna Sullivan, a gifted sixth-grade student, recently achieved an impressive academic milestone by qualifying for the National Round of the International Academic Competition, which will be held in Orlando, Florida, this May.
The International Academic Competition is a highly competitive academic program that hosts more than 200 regional quiz tournaments across the country, featuring over 15 separate subject-area competitions. These events challenge students in areas such as logic, mathematics, science, language arts, and critical thinking, requiring quick recall, deep understanding, and strong reasoning skills.
To earn a spot at the regional level, Anna first had to successfully complete an online qualifying exam, a rigorous assessment designed to identify students prepared for advanced academic competition. Her performance on that exam earned her the opportunity to compete regionally, where she demonstrated exceptional knowledge, focus, and problem-solving ability—ultimately qualifying her for the national stage.
Anna’s advancement to Nationals reflects not only her strong academic abilities, but also her dedication, curiosity, and willingness to challenge herself beyond the classroom. Competing at the national level places her among some of the top academic competitors from across the United States.
As Anna prepares to travel to Orlando in May, she represents her school and community with pride. Her achievement highlights the importance of providing gifted students with opportunities to extend their learning, apply higher-order thinking skills, and engage in meaningful academic challenges.
Congratulations to Anna Sullivan on this outstanding accomplishment and best wishes as she competes at the national level.
