Stand Together, Steel Valley Wellness wrap up Circle Talks series

A session of Circle Talks

The Middle School Stand Together team and Steel Valley Wellness wrapped up their three-part series of Circle Talks on Tuesday, March 7. The sessions evolved out of a collaborative effort to introduce students to the basics of mental health and coping mechanisms. Licensed Professional Counselor Katie Whitney, the co-owner of Steel Valley Wellness, helped guide the sessions, which were open to all Steel Valley Middle School students.

In the final session, students had the opportunity to share, learn and relax amongst their peers in a safe environment. It included a Jeopardy Review game on Mental Health Disorders. Participating students also enjoyed a Chick-Fil-A breakfast. Damian Standon won a gift card as part of the final session, as well.

Mrs. Whitney and Stand Together advisor Ms. Ryan Dunmire would like to thank all of the participants throughout the three sessions and hope that they carry the skills and information with them in the future.
