STREAM Program Returns with a Host of New Experiences

The Steel Valley STREAM Program will
return in the second semester of the
2017-18 school year with deeply
immersive, engaging and exciting
educational opportunities for students in
grades 6, 7 and 8. In February, sixth
graders will be put through a whirlwind
event focusing on the math and science
behind roller coasters. In March, seventh
grade students will discover the laws of
motion and how to stay safe on the road
with our “Crash Test Dummies” event. The
year will culminate with eighth graders racing boats across the swimming pool that they design and build themselves out of cardboard!

Events require more than answering questions or getting the right answer. They involve investigation, exploration, search, quest, research, pursuit, and study. It is enhanced by a community of learners, each learning from the other in social interaction.
