MS Drama Club brings "Shadow Stories" back to stage with new cast

It appears the curse hasn't been lifted, after all!

The Steel Valley Middle School Drama Club will present an encore run of "The Shadow Stories: A Cursed Play" with an all new cast from January 15 to January 17 in the Steel Valley High School auditorium. The drama club presented the show in October, but interest was so strong during the audition process that director Ms. Christine Schott has prepared a second run featuring fifth graders and sixth graders. For many, it's one of their first appearances on stage!

"The Shadow Stories: A Cursed Play" shares five scary stories drawn from myths and traditional storytelling from cultures around the world, all told by five storytellers who are scared out of their wits.

The curtain rises at 7 p.m. from Thursday, January 15 through Saturday, January 17.

Written by Matt Webster, "The Shadow Stories" features an ensemble cast with students taking on multiple roles as members of The Shadows, as our storytellers, and as characters in each terrifying story.

The cast features Liyana Berts, Emma Biondo, Maya Colasante, Sam Edwards, Fiona Egan, Carolann Eisel, Ryder Figueroa, Josh Hughes, Abby Kleiber, Donlea Krysinski, Aurora Mazella, Eliana McCallister, Mila Newell, Evelyn Powers, Anna Sullivan, Kate Sullivan, Megan Wain, and Emerson Yakubic.

The show is directed by Christine Schott, with Alice McCallister serving as assistant director, and Avery Yakubic as stage manager. Emma Gonzales, Exavier Giles-Woodson, Ty Seibel, Peter Stone, and Jordan Schempp are the stage crew. The lighting board operator is Jordan Schempp, while Mason Rager operates the sound board and provides technical support. Kara Siniawski and Temi Wierzbowski provide rehearsal support.

Join us this weekend and help end the curse for good!
