Middle School Football Makes Debut Against Chartiers Valley

Middle School football came to Steel Valley over the summer and the Ironmen made their debut against Chartiers Valley on Wednesday, Sept. 7 at Campbell Field.

Coached by Steel Valley graduate Dontez Williams, the middle school team provides an opportunity for students in seventh and eighth grade to learn more about the game, hone their skills, and to be better prepared for the transition to high school football. They're supported by the middle school cheerleaders, who will help provide some extra Ironmen Pride on the sidelines at games this season.

Though the team lost to Chartiers Valley in the opener, the hope is that through their love of football, the players will learn about teamwork, sportsmanship, perseverance, time management, healthy exercise, and other positive habits.
