The annual Barrett Black History Month T-Shirt Sale is underway through January 31. This year's theme us African Americans and Labor. The T-Shirts feature prominent Black historical figures and inspirational quotes, and they are personalized with the words "Steel Valley Ironmen."

Santa's ready to fly around the world thanks to the encouragement of Barrett Elementary students, who shared all the ways Santa can overcome unexpected challenges as he makes his deliveries. Barrett hosted its annual winter concert on Thursday, December 19.

The Steel Valley High School's Chick-fil-A Leader Academy visited Park and Barrett Elementary Schools, where they distributed packs of books that were donated by Chick-fil-A.
On a sunny Friday afternoon in the shadow of the towering remnants of the former Homestead Steel Works at the Waterfront, a handful of Barrett Elementary students united with veterans to plant a field of American flags. The field of 50 flags honor the Barrett family members who have sacrificed everything for our freedom.
Over 12 days in November, Barrett Elementary will be looking at various ways we can make a difference through giving. Each day, we will be highlighting a new way to give back. While we do have a day to celebrate each, donations for all days can be made any time from November 4th through November 27th.

Barrett Elementary was full of school spirit and Ironmen Pride this morning as the high school students stopped by for the fall sports pep rally.
Construction is officially underway on Steel Valley Elementary. The state-of-the-art building will unite Steel Valley School District’s kindergarten through fifth grade students under one roof for the first time in district history. The district celebrated the official start of construction on the project with a groundbreaking ceremony on Thursday, September 26. Current elementary students from Barrett and Park joined administrators and school board members to dig their shovels into the ground and kick off the project.

As a collaboration between UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, and Ronald McDonald House Charities of Pittsburgh and Morgantown, Inc., the Care Mobile offers no out-of-pocket cost medical care to children throughout Pittsburgh and the surrounding areas.
