Fourth graders take part in Step Up Day at Middle School

Students sit in a circle in the grass outside on a sunny day

Monday, May 16 was Step Up Day at the Middle School for our future fifth graders. Current fourth graders at Barrett and Park came together for some fun activities and bonding opportunities.

The fourth graders had the opportunity to tour the school and learn a bit more about what to expect when they make the leap to being middle school students next year.

The bulk of the day was spent outside in the glorious sunshine. The students played kickball, worked as a unit to move a giant inflatable ball, teamed up in a variety of creative relay races, and more. They also spent some time talking about what they're going to miss about fourth grade and elementary school, as well as what they're looking forward to in middle school.

Members of the Middle School Student Government served as leaders and guides for the fourth graders. They answered questions and helped out with several of the activities.

Thank you to all of the teachers, staff and volunteers who helped put Step Up Day together.
