Inside the Steel Valley High School planetarium

A view of a planetarium projection

Every week, students in Mr. Jeffrey Deabner's high school astronomy classes turn their attention to the stars. With their classroom in complete darkness, the only light comes from the images of the stars and planets projected overhead by the classroom planetarium.

It's a rare opportunity for high school students to be able to explore the universe, dive deeper into the planets, and learn about the significance various constellations have in cultures around the world, and to do that all in their regular classroom.

This is just a sample of what they see.
