Barrett delights crowd with holiday hits at winter concert

Barrett students perform

Barrett students filled the gymnasium with plenty of holiday cheer during their annual winter concert on Thursday, December 18. In front of an overflow crowd, the students shared some of their favorite holiday hits to help ring in the upcoming winter break.

Kindergarten students took the stage first with "Jingle Bells," "We've Got A Christmas Tree," and the crowd-pleaser "Hardrock, Coco, and Joe." First grade followed with a tribute to one of the best things about the holiday season with "Christmas Cookies and Holiday Hearts" as well as "Jolly Old St. Nicholas" and "We Wish You A Merry Christmas."

Second grade came on next to perform renditions of "Feliz Navidad," "I Wish This Christmas," and "Go Tell It On The Mountain." The Pre-K students even had a chance to join in on the fun with "Dancing Christmas Tree" and "Up on the House Top."

Third grade came on next to perform "The Happiest Christmas Tree," "Must Be Santa," " and "A Holly Jolly Christmas." Fourth grade had the honor of closing out the show and they did it with fantastic versions of "African Noel," "Somewhere In My Memory," and "Jingle Bell Rock."

Thank you to all of the friends and family members who showed up to support the students. Special thanks to the Barrett staff and volunteers for creating a festive environment and to Mr. Janov for managing the show. And, as always, a huge thank you to Ms. Melega for the work she does to help these students learn the songs and grow their musical knowledge to put on such a fantastic show.

Happy holidays from Barrett! Enjoy some photos from the show.
