Message from the Superintendent

Early on the morning of Thursday, February 20, 2025, Steel Valley School District administration became aware of an anonymous bomb threat made against Park Elementary overnight. The Munhall Police Department immediately launched an investigation and began the process of thoroughly sweeping the entire building to ensure there was no threat to students and staff. 

Prior to the scheduled arrival of students, Munhall Police completed their sweep of Park Elementary and determined that students and staff could enter safely. Thanks to their thorough and efficient work, the school day will be able to proceed as scheduled.

The safety and security of our students and staff is top priority for the Steel Valley School District. The district will continue to work with the Munhall Police Department and any other necessary law enforcement organizations to continue this investigation and hand out the appropriate discipline to the perpetrator or perpetrators.
