Pittsburgh Today Live Visits Barrett Elementary for 12 Days of Giving

KDKA's Daisy Jade with Barrett students and staff

Barrett Elementary was thrilled to host a visit from KDKA TV's Pittsburgh Today Live on Thursday, November 21. Students and staff welcomed Daisy Jade from KDKA and PTL and showcased what they've been doing through the school's annual 12 Days of Giving campaign.

Throughout November, students and staff are collecting various items to donate to important causes. Organized each year by Barrett teacher Ms. Jessica Andzelik, the 12 Days of Giving begins with the annual pumpkin patch, where a $1 donation allows students to decorate a pumpkin drawing in any way that they'd like. Students can continue to add to the pumpkin patch throughout the campaign.

You can see the full calendar and donations for the 12 Days of Giving campaign below.

Donations will be accepted through Wednesday, November 27 and can be dropped off at Barrett Elementary. Batch a Toys donations will be accepted through December 10. Questions can be directed to organizer Jessica Andzelik at jandzelik@steelvalleysd.org.

During the visit from PTL, students shared their welcome signs, showed off the pumpkin patch, and displayed a colorful turkey they had created. You can watch the entire segment below:
