Choirs, concert band perform annual spring show

The Middle School Forge Voices perform

The Steel Valley Music Department presented its spring program on Wednesday, May 8 in the Steel Valley High School auditorium. The evening featured the 7th-12th grade band, the Steel Valley Middle School Forge Voices, and the Steel Valley High School Concert Choir.

This was also the final performance for Steel Valley seniors, including percussionist Dustin Henderson and choir members Duane Carter, Vinton Kellar, Pe'Shince McCarrell, Alexis Palucis, Shatyra Parker, Cianna Shankle, and Wendoll Slade.

The band opened the show with performances of "As Spirits Soar," "Amparito Roca," "Fragile," and music from "The Incredibles." The Forge Voices followed with renditions of "Let it Be," "Memories," "The Wellerman," and "I Sing Because I'm Happy."

The concert choir closed the show with "Salmo 150," "Bring Me Little Water Silvy," "Never Enough," "Sweet," and a reprise of a medley from Disney's "Aladdin" performed during the senior showcase.

The band is directed by Ms. Malia Mueller, while the choirs are directed by Mr. Andrew Roberts, with Mrs. Julie Mack accompanying on piano.

The 5th and 6th graders will present their spring concert on Tuesday, May 21 at 6:30 p.m.
