Steel Valley administrators participate in discussions about regional partnerships with local districts, community organizations

Steel Valley School District Superintendent Bryan Macuga and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Coordinator Olando Dulin participated in a meeting of superintendents and community organizations hosted by the Woodland Hills School District on Wednesday.

The gathering was designed to foster discussions about strengthening regional partnerships to address common and shared challenges. The main topic was about ways to continue to address gun violence involving youth throughout the Mon Valley, but it also included presentations and discussions about potential partnerships and shared resources involving STEM education, career opportunities for students, and more.

The group included administrators from Gateway Area School District, Penn Hills School District, and Wilkinsburg School District, as well as board members and administrators from Woodland Hills.

Community organizations involved in the discussion included the Center for Victims, the Hughes Initiative, HOOP, the Allegheny County District Attorney’s Office, the Allegheny County Office of Violence Prevention, Greater Valley Community Services, Cure Violence, 412 Justice, and Allies for Children.
