Steel Valley has a proud tradition of preparing student-athletes to pursue their sport at the collegiate level, and that tradition lives on with the Class of 2024. Four Ironmen football players put pen to paper this week and officially signed their National Letters of Intent to accept scholarships and play college football.

On Wednesday, Carlos Scott and Mike Crist made their college commitments official. Carlos has signed with Indiana University of Pennsylvania, while Mike is headed to Slippery Rock University.

Carlos was an all-conference first team selection at tight end and outside linebacker this season, as well as a second team selection on special teams. Mike was an all-conference first team selection on the offensive and defensive lines. He was also named the conference defensive MVP.

On Friday, J.J. Heddleston and Quaron Pierce officially signed to play college football at Saint Vincent College. J.J. earned all-conference honorable mention honors on offense, while Quaron earned all-conference honorable mention honors on defense.

These four seniors helped the Ironmen post a 34-9 record over their four years at Steel Valley, including three conference titles, a WPIAL Class 2A runner-up finish in 2023 and a WPIAL Class 2A championship in 2022.

Congratulations to them all! Thanks to Primetime Shots for several of the photos from the celebrations.
