Park Elementary Says Goodbye

Three teachers pose for a photo wearing "Retired Teacher" t-shirts

Today was the last day on the job for three Park Elementary teachers who have over 90 years of combined experience with the Steel Valley School District.  They made a huge difference, and they will be missed.

Mrs. Linda Terrick is saying goodbye after over 32 years with Steel Valley.  She started her career teaching 6th grade at Woodlawn Elementary.  She's taught 5th grade at Barrett Elementary, Park Elementary, and the Middle School; and has also taught 3rd grade here at Park.  She will be ending her career as a kindergarten teacher.  Mrs. Terrick is looking forward to having the opportunity to travel -- she's heading to Italy this Sunday!  She also can't wait to spend quality time relaxing with her family.  Mrs. Terrick will miss seeing her students learn and grow.  She always loves running into her former students and seeing how far they've come.  Mrs. Terrick is appreciative of the wonderful staff members she's had the opportunity to work with and will really miss the camaraderie and laughs.

Mrs. Jill Watson is leaving us after 24 years with the Steel Valley School District.  She started her career as a life skills teacher at the Middle School before becoming a Learning Support Teacher here at Park 22 years ago.  Mrs. Watson is looking forward to spending time with her grandchildren and travelling with her husband.  She can't wait for an upcoming trip to New Orleans!  Mrs. Watson is going to miss working with her students.  In her position she had the opportunity to work with the same students over the course of a number of years, and she got to know them and their families well.  Mrs. Watson loved seeing how much they grew!

Mrs. Tammy Law has taught 2nd grade at Park Elementary and Barrett Elementary for the past 35 years.  She can't wait to spend time travelling and spending quality time with her family.  She plans to spend everyday doing the things that make her happy!  Mrs. Law is looking forward to an upcoming beach trip and future trips to Tennessee and Hawaii.  Mrs. Law is going to really miss all of the kids and families from both buildings that she's gotten to know -- she is still in touch with many of them.  She is sorry to say goodbye to all of the wonderful teachers and staff she's worked with.

Mrs. Law, Mrs. Watson, and Mrs. Terrick -- THANK YOU!  Park Elementary School is a better place because of you, and you will be missed!  Enjoy your retirement -- you earned it.
