Junior Nathan Collins fundraising to build Munhall dog park for Eagle Scout project

Junior Nathan Collins is fundraising to build a dog park in Munhall for his Eagle Scout project

Junior Nathan Collins is working on his Eagle Scout project, the capstone toward achieving the highest rank in Boy Scouts. Collins, an honor student at Steel Center Tech, plans to open a dog park behind Munhall Volunteer Fire Co. #1 between Martha Street and East 11th Avenue. The space used to be a community playground that fell into disrepair. Now, Collins is helping to turn the space into an enclosed dog park.

The dog park will need a double-gate system to offer a secure environment for the dogs, signage, a pavilion with a concrete floor and some additional clean-up. Collins has launched a fundraiser to help cover the $8,000 budget estimated to complete the project. If you would like to donate, there is a GoFundMe page set up with additional details about the project. Donations can also be made by check payable to Nathan Collins or Boy Scouts Troop 4, with a notation of BSA Troop 4 Eagle Project on the memo line. Checks or gift cards to home improvement stores can be mailed to:
