Socktober

MS Student Government Presents Socktober!

October 12 - 30

MS Student Government is running a service project called Socktober, where students are working to collect new pairs of socks for men, women, and children to donate to homeless communities. Dave Gloss, an SV alumnus, works with an organization called Operation Safety Net through Pittsburgh Mercy. He will take care of delivering our donations to them, who, in turn, delivers them to homeless families living on the streets of Pittsburgh. We did this a few years ago, and it was very successful.

Student government students are already hard at work, asking friends and families for donations. They set a goal of 500 new pairs of socks at our meeting a few weeks back. If you would like to contribute, please send them my way via inner-office mail at the middle school. There is also a collection box in the HS lobby that I check each morning if you wish to drop them off at that location.

Some flyers and promotions videos are attached as well as a link to Operation Safety Net.

As always, thank you for supporting the MS Student Government!
