Due to the continued impact of the winter weather on the Steel Valley community, and to ensure the safety of our students with the anticipated return to school on Monday, the Steel Valley School District will provide a temporary shuttle service to the secondary campus for Steel Valley Middle School and High School students.
This shuttle will run Monday, February 2 through Friday, February 6. It will operate on a continuous loop through the Steel Valley community, with pick-up locations at Barrett Elementary and Park Elementary. Students who wish to use the service should arrive at Barrett or Park prior to a designated pick-up time. The shuttle will stop at Barrett, make its way to Park, and then drop off students at the Middle School/High School. During dismissal, it will operate in reverse.
Middle School and High School students who wish to be picked up at Barrett Elementary should arrive at the corner of Ann Street and East 12th Avenue. Students who wish to be picked up at Park Elementary should arrive at the parking lot on Cambria Street.
There will be three runs in the morning for arrival, with initial pick-up times at Barrett scheduled for 7:25 a.m., 7:45 a.m., and 8:05 a.m. The shuttle will leave Barrett and head to Park a short time later.
There will be four runs in the afternoon following dismissal, with pick-up times on the secondary campus scheduled for 2:35 p.m., 2:55 p.m., 3:15 p.m., and 3:35 p.m.
We hope this shuttle service aids in the transition back to school while we continue to navigate this winter.
