Community Support: Weekend Food Bags for Our Students

We understand that times are especially challenging right now with SNAP benefits currently unavailable. At Steel Valley School District, we want to ensure that every student has access to nutritious meals — not only during the school week but throughout the weekend as well.

Starting this Friday, bags of food will be available to any student who would like to take one.

Each bag includes items to help cover breakfast, lunch, and snacks for the weekend.

Distribution will take place after school on Fridays at all school buildings.

There are no sign-ups or eligibility requirements — if your student would benefit from a bag, please don’t hesitate to take one. We’re here to support one another, because that’s what our Steel Valley community does best.

We also want to extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who has made this effort possible — from the volunteers who have donated time sorting and packing food to the generous individuals, families, and organizations who have contributed supplies and funding. Your kindness is making a real difference for our students and families.

If you have questions or need more information, please contact your school’s main office.

Together, we’re stronger. Together, we care.
